Account Senior and/or Account Manager

We are looking for a Senior Accountant and/or Account Manager to join our team as we move into an exciting period following a recent office move to larger premises.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing a portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders to Partnerships and Limited Companies with the opportunity for future progression / manager level for the right candidate.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Accounts preparation from both incomplete records and computerised records
  • Company and personal tax return preparation
  • Liaising with clients on all accounting matters
  • VAT return / Bookkeeping assistance where required during busy periods
  • Reviewing work of other employees
  • New client setup
  • Other ad-hoc projects as they arise


  • ACA or ACCA qualified. Will consider QBE but must have minimum of 3 years practice experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years recent experience within a UK based, qualified firm of Accountants is desirable
  • Excellent working knowledge of Accounts Preparation for a range of businesses including Sole Traders, Ltd Companies and Partnerships.
  • Ability to prepare accounts to a high standard
  • Ability to use own initiative, to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ability to drive new business
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably CCH, Sage and Xero.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and word is essential

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills within a smaller company receiving a varied range of work and gaining experience in all company matters. The right candidate will have the opportunity to move to more senior roles within the firm if proven.

Semi-Senior Accountant / Cloud Bookkeeper

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Bookkeeper and/or Semi Senior Accountant willing to hit the ground running within our accountancy practice.

The desired candidate will have responsibility for maintaining clients bookkeeping on a day to day basis for a varied portfolio of small businesses within our growing department along with assisting our senior team with accounts preparation.

Responsibilities/requirements will include but not limited to:

  • Managing a small portfolio of clients taking responsibility for the inflow and processing of information through cloud accounting software
  • Liaising with clients as and when necessary by phone and email
  • Submission of VAT returns
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise own work load and keep to deadlines
  • Assistance with the MTD department of the practice and growing thereof
  • Assisting the senior accountants of the practice with processing of entries up to trial balance along with potential production of management accounts and other accounting matters as directed.
  • Most importantly, be a team player with a willingness to assist and a keen attention to detail

Car ownership and driving licence required due to the requirement for travel for collection of records as the need arises.

Salary for all roles dependant on level of experience.
