Tax Senior / Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our dynamic team at Oakfield Park Accountants in Cross Hills, near Skipton and Keighley.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of tax regulations and financial accounting principles, with a strong ability to analyse complex financial data. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with tax laws while providing strategic financial planning and advice to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on tax planning strategies to optimise clients’ financial positions.
  • Analyse financial statements and reports to identify tax-saving opportunities.
  • Deal with HMRC enquiry letters as and when they arise.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate tax strategies into overall business plans.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on clients.
  • Mentor and develop other staff members within the tax department.
  • Liaise with HMRC, clients and regulatory bodies as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior tax management role or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of tax legislation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Office Administrator

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented office administrator, ideally with experience within an accountancy practice, to join our admin team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by providing essential administrative support.

This is a fully office-based role, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

This position requires proficiency in various office tasks, including data entry and email and phone communication with external clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, be a team player, and able to demonstrate flexibility and resilience within the office environment.

Duties

  • Manage daily office operations, ensuring an efficient and organised environment.
  • Filing of client data/correspondence/archiving.
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately and promptly to maintain up-to-date records.
  • Handle incoming calls and correspondence with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Credit control.
  • Billing and invoicing.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate communication and workflow within the office.
  • Provide clerical support including photocopying, scanning, and mailing documents as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an administrative or office support role, ideally within the field of accountancy
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all tasks.

Account Senior and/or Account Manager

We are looking for a Senior Accountant and/or Account Manager to join our team as we move into an exciting period following a recent office move to larger premises.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing a portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders to Partnerships and Limited Companies with the opportunity for future progression / manager level for the right candidate.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Accounts preparation from both incomplete records and computerised records
  • Company and personal tax return preparation
  • Liaising with clients on all accounting matters
  • VAT return / Bookkeeping assistance where required during busy periods
  • Reviewing work of other employees
  • New client setup
  • Other ad-hoc projects as they arise

SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • ACA or ACCA qualified. Will consider QBE but must have minimum of 3 years practice experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years recent experience within a UK based, qualified firm of Accountants is desirable
  • Excellent working knowledge of Accounts Preparation for a range of businesses including Sole Traders, Ltd Companies and Partnerships.
  • Ability to prepare accounts to a high standard
  • Ability to use own initiative, to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ability to drive new business
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably CCH, Sage and Xero.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and word is essential

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills within a smaller company receiving a varied range of work and gaining experience in all company matters. The right candidate will have the opportunity to move to more senior roles within the firm if proven.
